Is Frank Ntilikina a BUST?

Image
In the 2017 NBA Draft, the Knicks were desperate for a point guard of the future. I was beyond excited when the Knicks chose Frank Ntilikina, a 6'5" 18-year-old with a 7-foot wingspan. Looking at his highlights prior to the season, I said this: "I know that Frank Ntilikina is listed as a point guard. I’ve seen highlights of him and I don’t think he has an NBA handle… yet. He’s not even 19-years-old yet, so hopefully the Knicks can keep him long enough to inevitably trade him for Jerian Grant. All kidding aside I think he is going to be a great defender and I support the pick. He is just not a NBA point guard yet." In 20 minutes a game, the precocious neophyte (Clyde term) is averaging 5.6 points and 3 assists, shooting 36% from the field and 31% from three.  When compared to Dennis Smith Jr.'s 15 points and 5 assists shooting 39% from the field and 30% from three , some Knicks fans are already writing Ntilikina off as a bust. I'm not going to waste my time co...

Are the Pelicans Better WITHOUT DeMarcus Cousins?

Image
In 48 games of the 2017-2018 NBA Season, DeMarcus Cousins was averaging 25 points, 13 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks. In late January, Pelicans fans held their breath when they saw one of their two Franchise superstars go down with an achilles injury. DeMarcus Cousins was having a career year before this injury, but the Pelicans were only slightly above .500 with a Davis/Cousins tandem down low. Before this devastating injury, the Pelicans seemed to be a legitimate playoff contender as a 6 seed, but since Cousins' absence, they are now the 4 seed in a crazy competitive Western Conference. It's a small sample size, but don't be surprised if you start seeing headlines saying that DeMarcus Cousins is a cancer and that the Pelicans are better without him. Regardless of where the Pelicans finish this season, they need to do everything in their power to keep Cousins on the roster and paired up with the 'Brow. What makes their front court so lethal is how the...

How Mudiay can HELP PORZINGIS LONG TERM and why the rise of Jokic was the WORST thing that happened to Mudiay

Image
In the 2015 NBA Draft, I was sitting with some of my fellow Knicks fans as we were awaiting the announcement of the 4th overall pick. I was chanting "Winslow!" others were chanting "Mudiay", it didn't matter who it was... All that mattered was that the Knicks finally got a good draft pick and were going to get a good player. Instead they got... Naturally, we were pissed. Some of us were literally swearing at the TV. I personally said: "Phil Jackson obviously drafted Porzingis to trade him for a veteran point guard to help Melo." With Andrea Bargnani still fresh in our minds, we couldn't help but be delusional and afraid about the Knicks betting their future on a perimeter focused European big man. Fast forward to 2018, and every Knicks fan shed a tear when Porzingis tore his ACL... off what should have been an iconic dunk on the Greek Freak. With Porzingis out indefinitely, the Knicks traded Dougie Mcbuckets for a player Knicks fans initially wante...

Are Greek Freak and Bledsoe the Future for the Bucks?

Image
The Milwaukee Bucks traded Greg Monroe and two draft picks for 27 year-old Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe averaged 21 points 6 assists and 5 rebounds last season. For those of you who don't know Bledsoe's game, I like to compare him to a poor man's Westbrook. He does a little bit of everything, and is a freakish athlete. This was a very interesting trade, because when looking at the Bucks' potential starting 5, they can be a very dangerous squad: PG- Eric Bledsoe SG- Khris Middleton - Great three point shooter SF- Giannis Antetokounmpo - MVP Candidate PF- Jabari Parker - Out with torn ACL, so move Giannis to the 4 and put Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon at the wing. C - Thon Maker - A dude who no one knows, but apparently he's another unicorn and is going to be a MVP. This is definitely the most athletic team in the league, and can break out some dangerous small ball lineups with Giannis at the 4. They might have some issues in the half-court though. Yes, the Bucks are go...

Identity Crisis: The Knicks Need to Move Porzingis to the Center

Image
The NBA has always been a copycat league. If a formula works for one team, every other coach tries to follow suit. The evolution of small ball has taken over the league a lot faster than many anticipated. Teams that used to thrive off posting and toasting have remodeled their roster in order to keep up with the rapid tempo that the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets have established. I have news for everyone this season: The Knicks are going to be really bad at defense. This has already shown with their loss to OKC, and their meltdown versus the Pistons. Guards like Ish Smith and Reggie Jackson were exposing guys like O'Quinn and Kanter in the pick and roll. It's not like Kanter or O'Quinn are the greatest paint enforcers anyway, so the Knicks might as well just run and gun! In defense of Hornacek, he doesn’t have the best roster to play consistent small-ball. The Knicks don’t have any game-changing guards. However, Hornacek needs to understand that he has the most d...

NBA 2K18 Review

There has been a lot of mixed feedback from gaming sites for NBA 2K18. This is due to a horrible MyCareer mode. With annoying loading times, unskippable cutscenes (which by the way are infuriating and unwatchable), and an excessive amount of micro-transactions, it seems this might be the worst 2K yet. The purpose of my 2K18 review is to show the other parts of the game and whether or not it's worth buying. In short... it is, but if you only play My Career Mode, don't buy it. Check out my new YouTube channel and subscribe if you want to see more 2K and Nintendo content. I have been playing 2K since 2K3, so I have a lot of tips I can share that are not on other channels. I'm pretty good! (Also sorry about the crappy mic, that is now fixed for future videos.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROxAzBRLVVg

The Carmelo Anthony Era is Over | What did the Knicks Gain?

Image
It was an ugly divorce, but it's finally over. Carmelo Anthony is joining forces with Russell Westbrook and Paul George in OKC. The Knicks season opener is in, of course, Oklahoma City, so it should be fun watching Melo shooting wide open shots on a Knicks defense that might be even worse without him. Regardless of how you feel about Melo, it's important to understand what the Knicks actually got by trading him. Enes Kanter If you dislike Melo for being a ball stopper and not playing defense... well just you wait! The good news is Enes Kanter is a gifted post player who can bring some much needed scoring off the bench. The 24 year old has an impressive stat line per 36 minutes: 24 points and 11 rebounds. He only averaged 20 minutes per game on the Thunder, and that is because of how atrocious he was defensively. Kanter is incredibly slow when guarding the pick and roll, which is why I think Willy Hernangomez is still going to be more valuable than Kanter. https://twitter.com/JA...
