Are Greek Freak and Bledsoe the Future for the Bucks?

Image
The Milwaukee Bucks traded Greg Monroe and two draft picks for 27 year-old Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe averaged 21 points 6 assists and 5 rebounds last season. For those of you who don't know Bledsoe's game, I like to compare him to a poor man's Westbrook. He does a little bit of everything, and is a freakish athlete. This was a very interesting trade, because when looking at the Bucks' potential starting 5, they can be a very dangerous squad: PG- Eric Bledsoe SG- Khris Middleton - Great three point shooter SF- Giannis Antetokounmpo - MVP Candidate PF- Jabari Parker - Out with torn ACL, so move Giannis to the 4 and put Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon at the wing. C - Thon Maker - A dude who no one knows, but apparently he's another unicorn and is going to be a MVP. This is definitely the most athletic team in the league, and can break out some dangerous small ball lineups with Giannis at the 4. They might have some issues in the half-court though. Yes, the Bucks are go

Identity Crisis: The Knicks Need to Move Porzingis to the Center

Image
The NBA has always been a copycat league. If a formula works for one team, every other coach tries to follow suit. The evolution of small ball has taken over the league a lot faster than many anticipated. Teams that used to thrive off posting and toasting have remodeled their roster in order to keep up with the rapid tempo that the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets have established. I have news for everyone this season: The Knicks are going to be really bad at defense. This has already shown with their loss to OKC, and their meltdown versus the Pistons. Guards like Ish Smith and Reggie Jackson were exposing guys like O'Quinn and Kanter in the pick and roll. It's not like Kanter or O'Quinn are the greatest paint enforcers anyway, so the Knicks might as well just run and gun! In defense of Hornacek, he doesn’t have the best roster to play consistent small-ball. The Knicks don’t have any game-changing guards. However, Hornacek needs to understand that he has the most d

NBA 2K18 Review

There has been a lot of mixed feedback from gaming sites for NBA 2K18. This is due to a horrible MyCareer mode. With annoying loading times, unskippable cutscenes (which by the way are infuriating and unwatchable), and an excessive amount of micro-transactions, it seems this might be the worst 2K yet. The purpose of my 2K18 review is to show the other parts of the game and whether or not it's worth buying. In short... it is, but if you only play My Career Mode, don't buy it. Check out my new YouTube channel and subscribe if you want to see more 2K and Nintendo content. I have been playing 2K since 2K3, so I have a lot of tips I can share that are not on other channels. I'm pretty good! (Also sorry about the crappy mic, that is now fixed for future videos.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROxAzBRLVVg

The Carmelo Anthony Era is Over | What did the Knicks Gain?

Image
It was an ugly divorce, but it's finally over. Carmelo Anthony is joining forces with Russell Westbrook and Paul George in OKC. The Knicks season opener is in, of course, Oklahoma City, so it should be fun watching Melo shooting wide open shots on a Knicks defense that might be even worse without him. Regardless of how you feel about Melo, it's important to understand what the Knicks actually got by trading him. Enes Kanter If you dislike Melo for being a ball stopper and not playing defense... well just you wait! The good news is Enes Kanter is a gifted post player who can bring some much needed scoring off the bench. The 24 year old has an impressive stat line per 36 minutes: 24 points and 11 rebounds. He only averaged 20 minutes per game on the Thunder, and that is because of how atrocious he was defensively. Kanter is incredibly slow when guarding the pick and roll, which is why I think Willy Hernangomez is still going to be more valuable than Kanter. https://twitter.com/JA

The Classic Teams NBA 2k18 Left Out

Image
The NBA 2k franchise blew everyone away when they released retro teams in 2k11, but there have been many complaints due to the lack of additions since. Perhaps the resurrection of NBA Live influenced 2k to up the stakes. In NBA 2k18, they are releasing "All-Time" teams: The greatest players to play for all 30 NBA teams. 2k is also releasing 17 new classic teams. As a fan of NBA 2k, I must complain about something. Let's go over some of the classic that 2k left out. Leave in the comments any teams I might have missed. 2012-2013 New York Knicks The 54-28 Knicks broke the NBA record for most most made threes in a season (at the time). This was also Melo's best season, winning the scoring title and finishing 3rd in MVP voting. This team also had Jason Kidd, Rasheed Wallace, Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas, all in the twilight of their careers. 2k included the 2011-2012 Linsanity Knicks for reasons that I cannot understand. They went 36-30 in a meaningless lockout season and

Tim Hardaway's Contract in Comparison to the Free Agency Market

Image
The Knicks have invested $71 million dollars this offseason on Tim Hardaway Jr. (and $9 million on Ron Baker). The only positive response Knicks fans can possibly come up with is "At least they are not signing guys in their 30's." After the Knicks traded Hardaway for Jerian Grant in 2015, Hardaway was stashed away into the D-League. He managed to work with the Hawks' training staff and reinvent himself into a solid rotation player. Last season Hardaway averaged 14.5 points, 2 assists, and shot 36% from 3 point range.  He is definitely improving, but with his continued poor defense and one dimensional scoring ability, was he really worth such a steep price? According to the Zach Lowe, the Hawks didn't think so. https://twitter.com/NBASwissCheeseD/status/886306328548868096 Let's go over other deals that happened this offseason: Jonathan Simmons 3 years $20 million with the Magic  Simmons averaged 6 points last season, so his numbers will obviously not jump out a

What can the Knicks do in Free Agency?

Image
New York is not the destination it once was. Big markets are becoming less relevant, because winning equates to endorsements etc. In addition to this, the Knicks have an overpaid Center in Joakim Noah, a no-trade-clause Melo, and an exit interview skipping Kristaps Porzingis. We will not be discussing the Knicks' chances landing CP3, Kyle Lowry, Gordon Hayward and Blake Griffin, because there is no chance. Not including rookie Frank Ntilikina's contract, the Knicks have $79 million reserved for a $99 million salary cap. The Knicks are not going to win a championship next season, so any move they make should support Porzingis' timeline. Despite trade rumors, Porzingis is not going anywhere. Phil Jackson is just cranky. Here are some realistic opportunities that the Knicks might want to pursue: The Knicks just drafted a point guard, but Frank Ntilikina is 18 years old, who knows if he is ready? George Hill Pros: George Hill is an average NBA point guard. He can comfortably r

NBA Finals: Part 3

Image
We are entering the third year in a row where the same teams have played each other in the finals. This is the first time this has happened in NBA history. 2016 was a historical year for the NBA. The Golden State Warriors broke the all-time record for wins in one season (73-9). However, the playoffs exploited the vulnerability of the Dubs. In the Western Conference Finals, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook had a 3-1 lead on the Warriors. With OKC’s raw athletic dominance combined with their rebound advantage, they pushed the Warriors to the limit. The Warriors did not let up, as Klay Thompson managed to guide Golden State to the finals, and Kevin Durant blew a 3-1 lead. Fast forward to the 2016 finals and a similar scenario happened. The Warriors were up 3-1 on the Cavs, but LeBron played arguably the best basketball of his life, averaging 30 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Kyrie hit a crazy three and the Warriors historically dominant 2016 season will forever

Who Is a Bigger Threat to Cleveland in Round 2: Bucks or Raptors?

Image
The Cavs faced plenty of doubt throughout this season. From their poor defense (ranked 23rd in the league in defensive efficiency this season) to their lack of chemistry with new acquisitions of Kyle Korver and Deron Williams, a lot of factors were against Cleveland. They  got their top seed stolen by the Boston Celtics to boot. All of this seems like a distant memory now with the Cavs sweeping the Pacers in a more competitive series than one would think (including an open game winner botched by C.J. Miles). Paul George fought, and some games came down to the wire, but it’s business as usual for LeBron. It might be another another easy trek to the finals for The King. In the second round the Cavs will either play the Toronto Raptors or the Milwaukee Bucks. It’s interesting to think who would be a tougher opponent Cleveland? Let’s ask twitter: https://twitter.com/NBASwissCheeseD/status/856246059085041668 Raptors The Raptors and Cavs have history in the playoffs. Last year in the Easter

DeMarcus Cousins to the Pelicans Changes the Landscape of the League

Image
Anthony Davis had himself a night. Not only did he break Wilt Chamberlain’s all-star scoring record , but he also acquired fellow Kentucky Wildcat DeMarcus Cousins as his front-court buddy. The Pelicans will send guard Buddy Hield, 2017 first- and second-round picks, and guards Tyreke Evans (going back to Cali) and Langston Galloway to Sacramento for Cousins and forward Omri Casspi. Anthony Davis (age 23) is averaging 28 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. DeMarcus Cousins (age 26) is averaging 28 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. This newly formed duo has the potential to be the greatest front-court in NBA history.  What makes this front-court so lethal is how the NBA is developing into a small ball league. Power forwards are becoming big-man hybrids who can shoot and guard the perimeter, but with limited size they give up boards to bulkier power forwards like Zach Randolph. The difference between the Pelicans playing big with Cousins and Davis, versus the Grizzlies playing big with M

Melo's Future with the Knicks

Image
As the Knicks continue their inconsistent play, it is becoming clear that they are not a championship contender playoff contender. Apologies to everyone who thought they had great Vegas odds to win it all. Many Knicks fans are stressing that it's time for Melo and the Knicks part ways. This is considered a win-win because Melo can join a contender, and the Knicks can build around their unicorn, Kristaps Porzingis. There are multiple reasons why this is not going to happen: Carmelo Anthony has a no trade clause Phil Jackson met with Carmelo about potentially trading him. Melo claims he never even considered waiving his no trade clause , "I've never even, haven't even thought about that," Anthony said. "Like you said, I guess there's people talking about it. I don't know, I haven't thought about it. It's not something that I've thought about so far." You could argue that Melo is just being politically correct after being classically c
